external keyboard is unusable now that keypresses switch between letters

Description

Try to type "application" using an external (eg bluetooth) keyboard and you'll
get "aqlication"

It seems the code to make it so you press 2 multiple times to cycle through
a-b-c is also intercepting keystrokes it should leave alone.

This is only a problem when the multitab keyboard is on.

installing the matchbox-keyboard and removing multitap-keyboard fixes this.
