Description
Okay, this is a weird one.
On a recently-built image (earlier this week) including kernel 2.6.24, the
matchbox keyboard works differently depending on whether USB is plugged in or not.
I have the multitap keypad removed and the matchbox keyboard reinstalled per the
wiki -- http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Switching_Keyboards -- and most of the
keys work fine.
BUT the 7 8 9 0 - keys act as follows:
With USB plugged in, "7 8 9 0 -" turn into "{ [ ] } \" (regardless of shift or
caps-lock state).
With USB unplugged, the "7 8 9 0 -" keys yield "7 8 9 0 -" as one might expect.
This is repeatable, plug in => weird result; unplug => normal, over and over again.

It's charger-related. Even when the GTA01 is plugged into a dumb (Motorola
phone) charger, which defaults to slow charging, the keyboard mapping is
affected as described.

I have a bluetooth keyboard that I connected with while the neo was connected to
the usb, and I get the same (mis)behavior: typing "7 8 9 0" yields "{ [ ] } \"
(regardless of shift or caps-lock state).

using the OM daily snapshot 20080424 and its multitap keyboard, I get the
same effect on numerals, and the letters from G-Z appear in lower case when
the case is set to upper.( plugging usb cable from PC)

Thanks. I can confirm that the same is true (g-z won't go uppercase) with the
matchbox keyboard. I hadn't noticed that before.

Re: my comment #5, multitap keyboard with USB plugged in is good at devel snapshot
of 20080508.

Clare is not fit to be let loose, I am sorry, but the multitap is good if the
USB is plugged in during the load, but if the plug is removed and then replaced
it goes bad. That is where the multitap is version 080508 loaded from an image
flashed into NAND. Using an image of the rootfs.tar.gz type untarred onto the
SD card,
the behaviour is the same, CAPS are fine until usb is removed then replaced.

Duplicate of #1533. But for gta01 and the stock kdrive a package build from the xglamo sources is needed.

UPDATE: I flashed brand-new kernel (2.6.24+svnr4285-r4251-r5) and rootfs images,
performed the following to replace the multitap keyboard:
(Per the Switching_Keyboards page on the wiki)
. . . and the problem persists, exactly as described. It doesn't matter what
kind of system my GTA01 is plugged into, Windows or Linux.
This used to work!
