rootfs : 20080623-asu.stable-rootfs.jffs2
summary : sometimes keyboard does not appear when create new message
or appear short time then just disappear.
step :
- go to Messages
- new message
reproducible: 3~4 out of 10 tries.
current result :sometimes keyboard does not appear automatically.
expected result :always should be appeared

it will show up for a second than disappear, and you have to go back to previous page and try again.
i want the keypad!!!! don't disappear!!

The keypad can show up,but still have some problems, i'll open another ticket to describe it.

It happened with the base image now.

This time the keypad does not appear at all, i think it might be some package missing.

Is that limited to messages or "all" applications on the system?

Okay. I know why this happens and "sometimes" is actually always. The Qtopia version you have installed relies on someone to execute /opt/Qtopia/bin/qpredictivekeyboard but no one is doing that.
The testing feed should contain Qtopia packages 09335e76e1762b97dad23b997978424ed10f8da1 for quite some time (but somehow does not) which includes this commit and is six days old.
Please opkg upgrade your device.
