yes, the dialer should not take care of the rigntone playback.
in the long term, we will have a common api with profile integration.
in the short term, mickey will add ringtone playback to the gsm panel application

In short term this is now implemented in openmoko-dialer2. Dialer is ringing now.
To track the higher level sound API we have:

Dear Mickey, Should the dialer care the ring thing or leave it to gsmd at
current stage(as Sean once said.)
I think it's better to provide a common api for this functionality because we
will have the profile issue.
