trying to find out the version of dfu-util unnecessarily requires a -D or -U
argument.

jserv, can you please have somebody in your team work on resolving this trivial
bug? I would love to see some automagic inclusion of the svn source tree
version. So if a particular binary was build from svn rev. 2834, then it should
just display that revision when printing "-V".
