Description

When pressing the power button the system shuts down but never completes the
process.

The last message visible on the screen is as follows:

dbus-marshal-recursive.c(1186)got here[repeats about 100 times]X connection
to:0.0 broken )explicit kill or server shutdown)

From this point on the device is unresponsive, pressing the powerbutton does not
work. The battery has to be removed to reboot the device.

Does it correctly shut down if you hold the powerbutton until the popup menu
opens and then select "Power down" ?

When pressing the button for a long time and selecting "Power down", the device
usually shuts down correctly.

In the described case, the button is only pressed for a short time to return to
the today screen and the intention was never to shut down the system. The
x-server seems to just die.

NB, this does not happen every time. It is somewhat repeatable, but I cannot
trigger it at will.

Seems like just opening applications and then returning to today by tapping the
power-button for a moment will trigger it eventually.
