Description

I was talking to Chris Lord earlier in the week about the today app, and he
pointed me towards the screen shot linked, and it made me think about how I
would like the time indicated.

The current screen shots that I've seen have the clock as an incredibly
prominent widget/applet/whateveritiscalled, which for me is a bit to
overbearing, though i think for some it would probably be a very advantageous
feature (I know my father would appreciate it).

I've created an incredibly rudimentary mockup of how for me I think I would like
to see the time displayed, though there may be either technical problems with
this, or UI inconsistencies, but I'm not really familiar with the phone's
screen's to be able to know for certain.

With the smaller screen, one could then possibly expand (in this example) the 2
incomplete tasks, to say what they are.

Well just an idea :)

Just to be clear, the two time placements are an either/or, not an and :)

We had the clock at the top of the screen previously, but it takes up quite a
bit of valuable space if the window has a long title or there are a lot of icons.

I would add a preference to allow disabling the big clock from the home screen,
and adding one next to the date instead, as in your second suggestion.

  • Status changed from new to closed
  • Resolution set to fixed

Fixed in r3608 - To put the clock in the date button, set the gconf key
"/desktop/poky/interface/small_clock" to true (boolean)
